My very first sourdough bread! (To mom. She is in preventive self isolation, too, and bought her first iPad half a year ago, great decision that turned out to be!)

My mother isn't at home at the internet yet, but she knows how to look at my blog!
Welcome to the internet, mama! :)

I baked the bread in the cast iron pot that you see on the photo.
Heat it in the oven at maximum heat, take out of oven and put in the sourdough after half an hour.
Put the lid on and back in the oven, turn down the heat a bit after 15 minutes (220C°) bake for another 20 minutes with the lid on. Then take the lid off, be careful for the steam! Bake another 20 minutes or so, depending on your oven, done!
It's the steam in the pot that gives the bread this great crust.

Can't believe that it worked out so great, thanks to the great recipe and baking method that I found in a newspaper.

Greetings!

I cut the bread too early, by the way, it was still a bit warm.
You see that on the photo.

But I couldn't call out victory before I knew it was baked well inside, too, so..!

:)

It tasted great yesterday, just baked hours before, but it will taste even better today.
That's the great thing about sourdough bread, it gets better and better for at least 3 days!

I used to buy sourdough bread, big ones, 1 kilo, 2 at once, and I ate more than a week of those!
